Should my cat be inside?

I have a 2 yr old cat who is getting very friendly with cars. He will lay at the end of our driveway and will not move if a car attempts to pull in. He will also get under the cars when parked. This will led to his being killed if I don't find away to break him of this. Suggestions anyone?
Because of the reasons you have stated as well as many others it is recommended to keep your cat indoors. The average indoor cat lives longer than 12 years, while the average outdoor cat survives for less than five years. If you feel your cat needs to be outdoors then supervise the activity. Outdoor fencing as well as a leash and harness are great alternatives. Limiting your cat’s outdoor activity can help as well. If your cat is outdoors when you are home and indoors when you are not, it will reduce the risk of him being in the driveway when you return. Always be sure your cat is wearing proper identification when he is outdoors. ID tags increase the chance that he will be safety returned if he is lost or injured.
