The weather has kicked it down a notch and there is finally snow on the ground. It's not a lot, but I bet there's enough to make a snow sculpture of Lucky! I wouldn't give her a corncob pipe, but in true Frosty the Snowman fashion I would give her a button nose and two eyes made out of coal! This week Lucky and I got an exclusive interview with Enchanted child star Rachel Covey and her two cats Cookie and Cuppy (short for Cupcake). Hanging around Cookie and Cupcake made our stomachs growl for a sweet treat. Covey told us all about the Enchanted set and her magical co-stars. Co-stars Amy Adams and Oscar-winner Susan Sarandon both brought their dogs on set with them, where Covey was happy to play with them. Covey even said that Susan Sarandon's dog Penny looks just like Lucky! As for Adam's dog, Pip, Covey enjoyed playing fetch with it and found it very sweet. Covey also chatted with us about the animals on-set, such as the real rats they used (one of which bit McDreamy Patrick Dempsey, her onscreen dad). Later that week Lucky and I dashed off to the I Am Legend premiere. The film was one of Lucky's most anticipated of the year because, well, there was a dog on the poster! That dog is a German Sheppard named Abby. I Am Legend is Abby's debut as a canine actor– she was a rescue who was extensively trained for the role. The stars certainly came out to support. Lucky was so nervous to see megastars like Tom Cruise and Will Smith (more like the whole Smith family, including Jada Pinkett-Smith ) that she stayed hidden deep down in my bag. Also spotted was dog lover and rocker Pete Wentz who arrived without his dogs. We also saw Tyrese, Montel Williams, Russell Simmons, Ron Howard and Mary J. Blige. Lucky was mad enough that I brought her to the movie, because we didn't have time to stop at home, but she got even more angry when she realized how scary the movie was. Thank Dog she didn't bark! Lucky and I skipped the after party because I had to get to bed early to wake up and do Fox Business the next morning to talk about holiday pet gift ideas. Because it 'tis the season to be jolly, that means it is time to spruce up your home with holiday decorations galore. Just make sure you are cautious when it comes to the decorations you choose, because some of that fresh foliage can be dangerous to your pet's health. While mistletoe may be fun to embrace under, it can cause upset stomach and sudden heart collapse in your pet. The biggest threat to your pet's health, however, is the glistening red poinsettia plant. Poinsettia's are synonymous with Christmas, but they contain a poisonous sap that can cause upset stomach and blistering in your pet's mouth. So when you're decorating your home with fresh holiday plants, make sure they are out of reach of your pets. There's nothing wrong with standing under the mistletoe with your pet this holiday, just don't let them eat it!
