Congratulations to all the Oscar winners, Lucky and I bark down to you. This week, just in time for the party of the year, Lucky and I flew to Los Angeles to dip Lucky's tail into the town and get a little Oscar buzz (or bark) of her own. Before we left, we attended JC Penny's launch of their new brand, American Living, back in New York. Lucky's spoke to American's Next Top Model judge, photographer (and former model), Nigel Barker, whose last name alone made everyone wonder if he had a dog. Barker told Lucky no dog for now, but Queer Eye For the Straight Guy's Thom Filicia loves his dog Paco and cannot wait to work the runway at this year's Paws for Style. Speaking of the runway, Lucky ran into Project Runway contestants Chris March and Christian Siriano who were both looking fierce. Lucky and I also spotted actor Cameron Mathison, Nick Lachey, and The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Lucky loves being on The View because everyone knows she has a view of her own. For Lucky, however, there was no better celebrity sighting than Gary LeVox and Rascal Flatts who performed in honor of the launch of American Living. Lucky loves Rascal Flatts and was panting when she saw them performing, she just can't get enough of them in the office. Lucky found out that LeVox has a Chocolate Lab named Sergeant and Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney and wife (former Miss Georgia USA, Tiffany Fallon) have two dogs, Coco Chanel and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
After seeing Rascal Flatts, it was off to LA and Lucky's first stop on her Oscar tour was the first ever Hollywood Dog Walk of Fame and Pawscar celebration. The celebration was part of the Los Angeles debut of Angels on a Leash, the immensely successful charity of the Westminster Kennel Club which champions the use of therapy dogs in health care facilities, schools, rehabilitation, hospice, extended care, correctional facilities, and crisis intervention. Lucky enjoyed the red carpet event packed with Hollywood's hottest paws from film and television. Lucky got to meet some of her favorite canine stars including Abbey from I Am Legend, Gibson (the world's tallest dog), Tubbs from Game Plan, Jeb and Quigley from Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, Breezy from Stark Trek Enterprise and Chester from Transformers. Also there was our favorite Westminster Correspondent and the founder of Angels on a Leash, Dave Frei. Lucky got to check out the newest pet fashions before all the dogs in Hollywood, so she felt like a top dog at such an stylish pet event. While enjoying life in the spotlight, Lucky checked out the Celebrity Portraiture Studio for the Stars and their Pets event at The Main Event Red Lounge, hosted by Wire Image photographer, Michael Bezjian. Celebrities like Tia Carrere, Jai Rodriguez, Nip/Tuck's Annalynne McCord, Efren Rodriguez, Country star Tanya Tucker, and Cassandra Hepburn all stopped by for photographs and autographed Celebrity Pet Bowl Designs to help support spcaLA (Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). Lucky loved being in front of the camera and told me she was a natural… next stop? The biggest dog talent agent out there… whoever that is, Lucky will find them so she can be one step closer to the golden statuette and join animals like the rats in Ratatouille or the penguins in Happy Feet to be an honorable Oscar winner.
