Halloween Charity Event

It has been a posh week for a posh pup, but it's not all just fun and games for Lucky! We have also been busy planning for our Halloween charity event. Lucky and I hit up the book party for Imogen Lloyd Weber's The Single Girl's Survival Guide at Bloomingdales in SoHo. Her father, Andrew Lloyd Weber, wrote the musical Cats, which she said not only gave her a passion for felines, but it also paid for her college education. Lucky just loved pawing through the pages of the book, loaded with tips on picking up the opposite sex and being a "smart, savvy, independent woman." I assured Lucky that not all men are dogs, but I suppose in her case that's a bad thing. The party was a hit and the only one missing was Imogen's very sober, former cat, Smirnoff. Imogen tells me although Smirnoff was a very naughty cat, yet he is deeply missed (but his "path of night-time destruction" is not). Neighbors need not worry, the only reason she was running around the house screaming a vodka brand was because her cat knocked her keys into the litter box for the "umpteenth time." We stopped by the Hugo Boss Boss Black Collection party and show. Lucky loved the way the new line contrasted with her gorgeous white fur. Spotted cover-girl Kristen Davis, sans pooch Collie. Davis is busy filming the Sex in the City Movie here in New York. Also in attendance were Julianne Moore, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kate Winslet and Anna Wintour . Later that week was the Ralph Lauren party at Bergdorf's, celebrating his elegant coffee table book, aptly titled Ralph Lauren, a look back at his 40 years as a fashion icon through photos and personal narration. We were searching for my friend, and Ralph's photographer, Bruce Weber, to beg him to maybe use Lucky in one of his next Lauren shoots, in lieu of those stunning Golden Retrievers that are as American as apple pie. Lucky is an all American rescue dog, and she would be perfect for print work. To be honest, I think she just wanted to do it for the free Lauren cashmere doggy sweaters. And of course next week is our fabulous Halloween Pet Costume Party, sponsored by Pedigree and benefiting the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals (www.animalalliance nyc.org/) on October 29th at Arena in Times Square. It will be a night of hilarious comedy (and outrageous pet costumes) featuring comedian and Law and Order: SVU detective, Richard Belzer, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, and the host of USA's Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, Dave Frei. Of course pets will not be allowed inside unless they're dressed in their most creative costumes, which will be judged by the end of the night. Last year's winner? A two-legged rescued Chihuahua in a wheel-chair dressed as Larry Flint. That may be hard to top! (For further information on the event e-mail comedy@animalfair.com ).
