Well this week the weather got a little chilly in the city, so we had to pull out Lucky's winter coats. As much as I hate dressing dogs up for show, Lucky doesn't have as much fur as the other Maltese dogs on the block, so she insisted that she bundled up. I hit the dog park for the Mike and Juliet Show on FOX testing my theories on men and their dogs, based on my book How to Understand Men Through Their Dogs. Once Lucky and I got into the studio with Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy, all the skeptics were blown away and so were the guys! I read the men with uncanny details about their personalities, and Lucky was eyeing a cute Maltese named Uzzo whose owner Jimmy, as I predicted, was well kept and well mannered. We knew Danny who had a mutt named Bernie was down to earth, a lover of children and could have fun anywhere and with anyone - no matter the pedigree. Everyone was shocked when I said that Stu, the owner of the gorgeous Golden Retriever named Digger would be a good little league baseball coach because his dad coached him when he was little and that meant a lot to him! That almost made me forget how smooth he was because men who have Goldens tend to be pretty smooth with the ladies. Lucky and I weren't even back in New York for a week when we flew out to Los Angeles again, where the weather was warm and not only did Lucky not need her coat, but I didn't either. We went to The Best Friends Animal Society's 14 th Annual Lint Roller Party at the Jim Henson Company lot. The Best Friends Animal Society is a superb organization that operates the country's largest home for abandoned and abused animals and offers adoption and educational programs. I had a great time, although Lucky was a little spooked by the statue of Kermit the Frog and wished the real Kermit was there, but we heard he ad a frog in his throat and couldn't make it. No sight of Miss Piggy either, I guess she was covered in mud and didn't have time to get cleaned up . We hung out with Hollywood legend Cloris Leachmen of Young Frankenstein and her granddaughter Skye Englund. We also spotted Eric Roberts and Corey Feldman. The next night Lucky and I were off to the closing ceremonies of the 4 th Annual Artivist Film Festival for the 2007 Artivist Awards. The Artivist Film Festival is the first international film festival dedicated to Human Rights, Children's Advocacy, Environmental Preservation, and Animal Advocacy. The awards were hosted by Girlfriends star Persia White and honored artivists such as Dr. Gloria Lane, Ted Danson, Alyssa Milano, Claes Nobel of the Nobel Peace Prize Family and of course the festival winners. Lucky tried to get an in with Claes to be the first canine recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, she must think she's Al Gore. Now it is back to the chilly streets of New York for Lucky and I, although we did get some time to walk on the beach, Lucky just hates to get sand in her paws.
